The  objectives of the Aylmer Arts Council are:

  • Organize programs to showcase the artistic productions of its members and encourage the appreciation of artists in the community via special exhibitions and activities;

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with other cultural, artistic, educational and heritage organizations in the community, such as the Centre Culturel du Vieux-Aylmer, Symmes Inn Museum and Grande-Rivière High School, through exchanges, activities and contributions;

  • Develop and maintain the highest visual art standards possible through community Art classes and special workshops for its members.

Visual Arts:

Visual Art works recognized by the Council are typically done in mediums such as painting, sculpture, pottery, leather, photography, porcelain, glassware, fine art jewellery , florart, stain glass, textile art, just to name a few. Each art piece must be original and unique in its concept and style.

AAC annual events :

The Aylmer Arts Council presents two juried exhibitions in the spring and an outdoor show in early Fall.

The Council also offers visual art courses under the city of Gatineau’s Cultural and Recreational Activities Program.

Annual Membership fee is $ 20.00

The AAC membership includes Visual Arts professionals, semi-professionals and amateur as well as Fine Arts supporters and friends.
