Valerie has been painting in oil for many years and is keenly interested in capturing light in her landscapes and florals. She and her family came to "Upper Canada" from the Maritimes. She was a member of the medical profession and attended Carleton University before retiringt to the Art World.. She studied with Bruce Heggtveit, Robert Hyndman and Nicole Rheaume.

Her work may be viewed at Galery Old Chelsea, the Spurrell Gallery in Newfoundland, the Tea and Tole and the Ottawa Little Theatre. Her paintings are in private collections throughout Canada, The United States, Europe and South America.

Valerie has donated many of her paintings to charitable Art Associations and is a member of the Ottawa Art Associantion, the Aylmer Arts Council, the Gatineau Group of Artists and has participated in many juried art shows.
