
Mostly self-taught the artist originally worked in oils. She discovered watercolour in 1992.Marlene explores the intuitive approach to painting.
She also uses various media; such as collage, Japanese papers and inks. The resulting pieces are often abstract and appeal to one’s imagination.
She continues to add to her knowledge and technique through personal research and experimentation. Marlene is also called upon as a judge for juried exhibitions.
As a member of the Ottawa Watercolour Society, Marlene has shown her work at a number of juried exhibits held by the Society since May of 1993.
She became a Fellow and signature member of the Society in June of 1995. Marlene is also an active member of the Aylmer Arts Council .
