Born in Barrie, Ontario, Lisa's interest in art was nurtured in her childhood. In high school, she had the opportunity to participate in a co-op program where she managed to secure a work term with local artist Marlene Hilton Moore. Two days a week were spent cleaning brushes and stretching canvases, and the other three days were devoted to learning custom framing. Marlene gave her the gift of art classes along the way, and Lisa has developed her artistic imagery ever since. Her training continues every summer with courses at the Haliburton School of the Arts.
Never able to limit herself to the two dimensionality of canvas and paint, sculpture is a favorite medium, and her most recent work has been in wire. She delights in repurposing everyday objects by using them in her art and borrowing techniques from other media, reusing them to suit her purposes.
Lisa is the stained glass and jewellery instructor for the Aylmer Arts Council. She is also the co-designer for this website and the websites of other volunteer organizations.
