BIOGRAPHY
J.P. Burke
 

Peter Burke was born in the village of Fergus, Ontario in October 1923. He studied medicine, like his dad, and received his medical degree in 1951. Further studies took him to Toronto and Boston, MA; he was awarded a Fellowship in Pathology in 1957 by the College of American Pathologists. He became Staff Pathologist and Director of Laboratories at Montfort Hospital in Ottawa until his retirement in 1984.

Dr Burke studied at the Ottawa School of Art under the direction of several artists, including Ken Tolmie, Larry Halperu, Bob Hyndman, Bruce Heggtveit and Mrs Kodama. He joined Mr Heggtveit's "Gatineau Group of Artists" to focus his painting on the changing patterns of landscape and seasons in the Gatineau Hills. His paintings have been accepted in several group shows in Ottawa and Gatineau as well as private shows in Hudson, Quebec.
