Born in the Ottawa region, k-Daniel St-Cyr is a self taught artist who studied art at every opportunity and applied the discoveries he made to his works. His aim is to capture the beauty of a moment in time, within the region, that may never manifest itself again.

His mother died when he was two years old. Despite insurmountable challenges, through out his youth, this artist has been able to remove the obstacles that stand between himself and his art. He said "I try to speak to my mother and ask for the answer. Inexplicably, I receive it!".

The first oil painting he made was signed "Karmen", the name of his mother, to say thank you.
