In her home town of Saint-André Avellin, Claire Labrosse discovered her passion for arts very early in life. She spent large parts of her days drawing or colouring even before she started elementary school. In school, caricatures of her professors illustrated the separators in her binders.
A graduate of the University of Québec in Hull, Claire taught hairdressing for many years. But the wind of Inspiration became irresistible and blew her towards her primary passion. Her transition to the word of art was a gradual one, with many challenges along the way.
Claire endured, and devotes her life to creating and promoting her art.Self-taught, Claire paints for her own pleasure. She explores different media: fusian, oil and pastel. But it is watercolour that moves her, marvels her and allows her to express her emotions. She rounds out her training in seminars with Masters of watercolour and acrylic.
Her work is realistic and poetic. A dialogue with nature, soft and colourful. “I’m inspired by nature,” she says, “I live it, I convert and modify it in accordance with how I feel at the time.”
For almost twenty-five years Claire has imagined, created and completed each piece of work, infusing them with the beauty of her soul and every inch of her heart.
