Carla attended the « Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes » in Honduras (Central America) where she obtained her diploma in Fine Arts.  Later she obtained a diploma in graphic arts at the College Salette in Montréal. She has participated in several workshops with professional pastellists like Daniel Green.
She has had various solo and group shows since 1982 in Québec, Ontario, Burkina Faso, and Haiti.

“I have been painting with dry pastels for 26 years. I work sometimes with other mediums as well but I always return to pastels because to me this medium captures in landscapes and portraits the lights and textures of those moments that make a scene worthwhile painting and remembering.

My experience in other countries like Mexico, Central America, Africa and Haiti has influenced my style, which I try to keep simple. I have also been teaching the pastel technique trying to communicate my passion for the purity and spontaneity of the medium″.
